The growth of service business is projected to continue in EU. This trend touches all organizations. It also provides opportunities for Laurea, while systematic research and disciplined new business practices are sought in the field of service innovation and service design.
Traditionally European research on service has been strong. Thus, a joint research project with partners from various European countries is an excellent way to cooperate in this field.
Laurea SID is applying funds from EU to commence a joint research project. The funding scheme is FP7/ Marie Curie/ Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP).
Our academic partners in this project proposal are Politechnico Di Milano, Italy, and University of Dundee, Glasgow, UK. On the business side, three small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will participate.
Regards from the ICSSME2012 conference. ICSSME2012 is a newcomer conference of service research field. Organized by World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology (WASET), the conference took place October 8-9 in Dubai, UAE. There were about 100 participants in the event from countries around the world.

The constitutive meeting of The Finnish Service Alliance (FSA) brought 180 service researchers and business professionals from all over Finland to Espoo today. The FSA is a new forum for service scholars and professionals to share research contributions and to discuss about the opportunities and challenges within the service field.
The mission of the FSA is to promote and disperse knowledge on the research contributions made by service scholars in Finland both on a national and international level. Continue reading →
